I'm stepping up for youth mental health!

This October, I'm walking for youth mental health, by taking the Walk with Me challenge.

Walk with Me is a virtual fundraising challenge for Youth Focus, raising vital funds to provide mental health support and education programs to young people across Western Australian. 

As a mother of two teenage girls, Youth Mental Health is a very important issue for me.  

In my own life, beginning in my teenage years, I have at various times struggled with depression & anxiety.

One of the reasons for committing to this Walking Challenge is to show my daughters that it is possible to overcome the dark and find the light and joy inside of us again.  And to share that light with others so they can shine bright too.

Life can be tricky for everyone, young or old and there is no shame in asking for help & support when you need it. With the right support early in life we can truely change the trajectory of a young person’s life & allow them to have the courage and resilience to navigate challenges and thrive not just survive.
